Portable Dual Motherboard Open-Air Workstation

A clear, visual guide for assembling the frame and installing the primary PC components of the Portable Dual Motherboard Open-Air Test Bench.

This guide applies to all 2 variants: mATX & ATX

PARTS OVERVIEW

Identify the main components

Lay out the frame sections, motherboard tray, support arms and brackets before starting.

The ATX variant of this product is comprised of 14x, while the mATX variant is comprised of 10x main components:

mATX variant:

  • 1x Water cooling radiator frame
  • 1x PSU frame
  • 2x Motherboard backplates
  • 6x Water cooling radiator adapters – 2x of each: top, middle & bottom.

ATX variant:

  • 2x Water cooling radiator frame parts – Top & bottom
  • 2x PSU frame parts – Top & bottom
  • 2x Motherboard backplates
  • 8x Water cooling radiator adapters – 2x of each: top & bottom. 4x middle

STEP 1

Assemble the frame

Instructions

  1. Secure the the parts by using M3 screws on each  upper and bottom frame pairs.

STEP 2

Assemble the backplates

Instructions

  1. Install the GPU bracket to the backplate by inserting it into the 2 sockets designed for it, located on the side of the backplate.
  2. Secure the GPU bracket with M3 screws from the bottom of the backplate.

Tip

  • Note that the screw holes on top of GPU-bracket have to face inwards. Otherwise, they won’t align with the mounting holes on your GPU.
  • The SSD’s & HDD’s mounting points are highlighted with the text “SSD” & “HDD” respectively.

STEP 3

Install the first backplate

STEP 4

Install the Power Supplies

Instructions

  1. Position an ATX power supply at a time behind the PSU mounting frame marked with “PSU”.
  2. Secure each PSU using 6-32 PSU screws.

8x 6-32 screws

Tip

Tighten the PSU screws gradually and evenly.

STEP 5

(Optional) Install water cooling radiators

Instructions

  1. Secure the assembly to the back or front of the frontal frame using M3 screws once all 4 adapters are secured to the backside of your radiator.
  2. Repeat the process for the other water cooling radiator.

16x M4 screws (not included)

Tip

  • The radiator adapters are marked with: Top, Middle & Bottom. This marking indicates each  of the adapter’s vertical placement.
  • There is room to install a 240-360mm water cooling radiator on each side of the front frame.

STEP 6

Install the second backplate

STEP 7

Install motherboards & GPUs

Instructions

  1. Secure the motherboard using M3 screws.
  2. Install a GPU to a PCI-e slot of your choice, and secure it to the GPU bracket using M3 screws.
  3. Repeat step 4 for each GPU you want to install.
  4. Route and install all cables once motherboards and GPUs are installed.

18-26x M3 screws

Tip

Orient the rear I/O ports and PCI-e slots on the motherboards to face towards the side where the GPU bracket is installed.

FINAL CHECKPOINT

Inspect the complete assembly

  • All frame screws are evenly tightened.
  • PSUs & storage drives are securely mounted and ventilated.
  • The motherboard and GPU are fully supported.
  • The power buttons are connected correctly.
  • No cables are touching fans or sharp edges.
